Top 3: Best Investing Podcasts Overall

1.  The Investing for Beginners Podcast

Andrew and Dave are two regular guys who didn’t go to school for finance. They are self taught investors who share their knowledge and insights on the show.

Learning about complex topics like investing and the stock market can be tough. As Dave shares, you should treat learning about investing like eating a pizza— don’t eat it all at once!

Investing is a learning process, which is why this show was created.

Investors naturally have a lot of questions when it comes to the market. So, the hosts take a broad range of listener questions and answer them right on the show. They also bring on interesting guests to for fresh and new perspectives.

For anyone on their path to financial freedom, the Investing for Beginners podcast educates with a step-by-step simplified approach, translating the language of money so you can navigate the market with confidence. Disclaimer: I co-founded this podcast, and am confident you’ll find this podcast to be an essential resource for learning and growing.

2. The Canadian Investor

The average investor who is serious about stock picking should listen and subscribe to this podcast as well. Some of the valuable principles that Braden and Simon teach include: Dividend Reinvestment Plans (DRIP), dollar cost averaging, diversification, and valuation.

I appreciate the breakdowns of the income statement and balance sheet in episodes 6 and 7, which are helpful lessons for analyzing stocks.

Required listening for any Canadian Investor out there, there’s also insight on market news and emerging growth names. Founder Braden Dennis looks for world class businesses that can be compounding machines over the long term. Definitely a podcast worth checking out.

3. The Acquirers Podcast

When investing, it’s so important to get a balanced perspective on your options. This podcast provides diverse value investing ideas from smart, experienced investors.

Each of the 3 co-hosts of their Value After Hours show manage their own portfolios in a unique way.

Co-host Tobias Carlisle’s deep value fund is “quant” or numbers based. Bill Brewster looks more at the businesses model and tries to hold for long periods of time. Both have superb insight on their strategies.

These guys have a great dynamic; co-host Jake Taylor brings a fun twist with his “veggies” segments, mixing a wide range of topics and applying them to markets. Check it out for another great resource on investing in the stock market.

4. The Ramsey Show

The best thing you can do to get started with investing is to get your own financial books in order. Getting out of debt and learning to live below your means will help you achieve your financial goals faster than anything else.

This show is inspirational, educational, and also entertaining. Dave Ramsey shares his wisdom with his listeners on a daily basis. He has helped millions of Americans get out of the rat race (of debt) and leave a lasting financial legacy.

All of this great and inspiring positivity is encapsulated in the “debt free scream”. These are real listeners who have followed Dave’s plan and found freedom.

While I don’t agree with the advice to invest in growth stock mutual funds, I believe his so practical for so many people and their finances. Dave Ramsey constantly shares guided wisdom about business, investing, money and life. It most definitely deserves a spot on this list of top investing podcasts.

5. Stacking Benjamins

The definitive resource for those who enjoy listening to light financial topics. The show is headed by two former financial advisors, and is by far one of the most entertaining shows out there.

The hosts have a great sense of humor, and a wide variety of topics are presented and discussed. It’s a must-listen for anyone interested in financial planning and getting great ideas about saving money.

Stacking Benjamins releases multiple episodes a week. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed the old “short stack” episodes, in which they interview an expert about a topic. I’d recommend listening through the archives of these for valuable investing and financial insights.

Last 3: Best Stock Market and Investing Podcasts

6. Invest Like the Best

If you’re not afraid to dip your toes into some advanced topics, give this podcast by Patrick O’Shaughnessy a try. It is jam packed with interviews and ideas from super intelligent people all across the financial industry. Patrick takes a humble and curious approach to learning, which is an essential mentality for your investment journey.

7. Motley Fool Money

This show does a solid job rounding up the latest earnings reports and news around the stock market from week-to-week. I appreciate the (usually brief) fundamental analysis that gets included with these recaps. By listening to this podcast regularly, you can get updated on the latest narratives around the stock market and Wall Street. The over-arching theme is buy and hold, which is a strategy that is great for any investor.

8. The Money Tree Investing Podcast

This is a show that isn’t afraid to get a variety of different viewpoints and ideas. Each episode features an interview with a financial expert, followed by an in-depth round table discussion. The panelists dove deep into the fundamentals of value investing, asset allocation, and index funds– especially in the early episodes.
