The Founders
Andrew Sather
Andrew was an engineer by trade and began his career in the semiconductor industry. Along the way, he had a mentor who taught him the basics of personal finance and the stock market. Andrew fell in love with investing after seeing the wealth-building power it offered his mentor. He wanted this for himself.
Andrew looks to invest in late-growth companies that are maturing and generating lots of free cash flow. He always invests with a margin of safety and believes there are great rewards for investors who can think differently.
Living through multiple recessions drove Andrew to search for financial freedom, and he now wants to share that with others.
“I take my stock picking seriously. I feel a responsibility to put in as much effort as I can to drive great returns for our subscribers. I invest my life savings on the exact same picks as the Real Money Portfolio. ”
Dave Ahern
Dave went to school for music and worked for years in the restaurant industry, where he got firsthand experience on why businesses fail or succeed. He then made a pivot to the banking industry and fell in love with the stock market.
His first investment was Microsoft in 2014. After getting skin in the game and seeing the power of compound interest, Dave wanted to learn as much as he could.
Dave has grown into a value investor focused on finding quality companies at a fair price. He favors the fintech space and has long-term holdings in companies such as Visa, Adyen, and American Express. Now, he wants to share this knowledge with you.
“Andrew and I’s job is to help investors find fish, not give them the fish. We work hard to share honest opinions without pumping our book. My basic guiding principle is to treat investing like Warren Buffett, with honesty and respect. Treat others the way you want to be treated.”
